BRZ File

What are BRZ files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a BRZ file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your BRZ files.

What is a BRZ file?

A .BRZ file is an Avatar Studio BRZ file.

Avatar Studio BRZ format files come from a French multimedia game by Canal+ Multimedia. They store game asset data such as images or icons, sizes, types, and metadata about creator or version, presumably for avatar- or character-related content inside that game.

These files are produced by the game's build or export tools, and used by the game software itself while running. They package together references to image files (like PCX graphics), image types/icons, creators, and versioning information, allowing the game engine to load graphical elements and resources with correct sizing, type, and attribution.

Internally, files are structured in a plain/text-based block layout. They begin at the very start with the ASCII header "[TYPE]..LILIFILE..[VERSION]" at offset zero. Within the file appear keywords like "LE COMPTOIR", "LILI FILE", "CREATOR", "BROZER", "ICON", "SIZE", "TYPE", and ".PCX" which identify and link various resource entries.
