What is a BR6 file?

A .BR6 file is a Bryce 6 Scene file.

Bryce 6 Scene files store complete 3D environments created with Bryce 6, a 3D modeling, rendering and animation application by DAZ Productions. Scenes can include terrain, water, trees, skies, light sources, objects (including humans or animals), texture material settings, camera placement and other visual effects. These files represent whole scene configurations for rendering or further editing.

These files are produced by Bryce 6 or later versions of Bryce. A scene file is saved when the user builds or modifies a 3D environment - settings, models, lighting, textures all are packaged into one file. Such a scene file is opened in Bryce to view, render, further edit, or export parts of the scene into other formats. Bryce supports back-compatibility: Bryce 7 can open Bryce 6 scenes.

Bryce 6 Scene files are binary format files developed by DAZ Productions. They begin with a specific header: at offset zero they hold the ASCII signature "Bryce_6.0_File".

How to open BR6 files

Important: Different programs may use files with the BR6 file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your BR6 file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
