What are BHF files and how to open them

What is a BHF file?

A .BHF file is a PCAnywhere32 Data file.

PCAnywhere32 Data files store settings that allow one computer to act as a "host" under Symantec's pcAnywhere software. The contents define how the host listens for incoming connections, what security and connection methods (network, modem, etc.) are allowed, and which remote users ("callers") may connect. These data files make it possible to configure and reuse host setup details without re-entering them each time.

Host connection settings are produced and saved by pcAnywhere. When a new host connection item is created - via a wizard or via advanced properties - the configuration is stored in one of these data files. These files appear as items in the "Hosts" list inside pcAnywhere, and are kept in a folder named Hosts under Symantec's pcAnywhere program data directory (for example in Windows under Program Data\Symantec\pcAnywhere\Hosts).

Byte‐level identifying signature for this format starts at offset 0 with the following sequence: 10 AB AA A8 6F 7B 7E 78 7E 76 7E 74 77 74 79 77.

How to open BHF files

Important: Different programs may use files with the BHF file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your BHF file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
