What are BFA files and how to open them

What is a BFA file?
BFA files have multiple uses, and BigFix File Archive is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
BigFix File Archive
These BFA files are archive files utilized by IBM BigFix, a system management product used to manage large groups of computers across various operating systems. BigFix enabled system administrators to install software, apply system updates and inspect software installations to aid in inventory control.
How to open BFA files
Important: Different programs may use files with the BFA file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your BFA file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested two different BFA openers which you will find listed below.

While BigFix File Archive is a popular type of BFA-file, we know of 2 different uses of the .BFA file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
Blowfish Advanced CS Encrypted
We know that one BFA format is Blowfish Advanced CS Encrypted. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
