What are BBLIB files and how to open them

What is a BBLIB file?
A .BBLIB file is a BootX BootBlocks Library file.
BootX BootBlocks Library files are data archives used by the Amiga virus killer program BootX (written by Peter Stuer) to store a collection of alternative bootblock images. BootX uses these libraries so the user can install custom bootblocks onto disks instead of the standard AmigaDOS bootblock. These libraries complement BootX's built-in bootblock recognition and allow users to select from known examples when replacing or installing bootblocks.
BootX reads these library files to present the available bootblocks to the user. When installing a bootblock from the library, BootX writes the selected image over the disk's bootblock sectors. The library file must reside in the same directory from which BootX is launched (or be otherwise loaded via BootX's Load Bootblock Library menu). If the library is missing, only BootX's built-in bootblocks are available.
Files of this format begin with a specific header signature to identify them. At offset zero the file contains the ASCII characters "BXBB" followed by a null byte.
How to open BBLIB files
Important: Different programs may use files with the BBLIB file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your BBLIB file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
