ATDF File
What are ATDF files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening an ATDF file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your ATDF files.
What is an ATDF file?
An .ATDF file is an ASCII Test Data Format file.
ASCII Test Data Format files record digital semiconductor test results in plain ASCII text. They serve as a human-readable version of test logs created by automated testing systems following the Standard Test Data Format (STDF) specification. These files store measurement data, test names, limits, part identifiers and metadata using record names and labeled fields, in structured text form rather than in the binary representation of STDF. ATDF is typically generated by converting binary STDF files, for use when readability, debugging, or compatibility with tools that process text is more important than file size or write speed.
The format follows the same record types and data model as STDF version 4 (released 2007), including records such as FAR (file attributes), MIR (master information), SDR (site description), PTR/MPR/FTR for test results, etc. Each record is represented by its name followed by colon-separated or pipe-separated field name/value pairs. The sequencing of records mirrors that in STDF: starting with FAR, then metadata, test data, and concluding with summary records like MRR.
Files begin with the ASCII signature "FAR:" at the very start (offset 0) to mark the file‐attributes record, establishing test version, tester identity, and other global settings.
How to open ATDF files
Important: Different programs may use files with the ATDF file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your ATDF file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
We have not yet verified any programs for Windows that work with this specific file format. If you know one, please use the 'Suggest a program' link below. Thanks!
