What are APM files and how to open them

What is an APM file?
Files that contain the .apm file extension are commonly associated with the Aldus Placeable Metafile format. These files are used to store vector and bitmap format data.
Files containing the .apm file suffix store commands that are played back on an output device using the API PlayMetaFile function that is used in the Windows operating environment.
The .apm file extension is also used for the Windows Application Manager. These APM files contain configuration files that are used by the Application Manager.
Metafile images that are created by a variety of Windows programs also contain the .apm file suffix. These files contain scale images along with metafile header information.
How to open APM files
Important: Different programs may use files with the APM file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your APM file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
