What are AMT files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening an AMT file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your AMT files.

What is an AMT file?

AMT files have multiple uses, and ABBYY Finereader language data is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

ABBYY Finereader language data

These AMT files contain the editable file formats created in ABBYY FineReader, an optical character recognition system. ABBYY is used to convert scanned documents, PDFs, and image files into formats that you can edit.

How to open AMT files

Important: Different programs may use files with the AMT file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your AMT file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested ten different AMT openers which you will find listed below.

ArtMoney Table File

ArtMoney Table is a file format used by the ArtMoney program to store collections of memory addresses and value-search definitions ("cheat tables") for specific computer games. These files let users save the results of memory scans - such as locations holding a game's score, health, or currency - along with metadata about the game version and operating system so that the same addresses can be reloaded in future play sessions.

The ArtMoney program produces these files after a user has searched game memory for values of interest. Saved tables can include multiple entries: each entry typically names a game variable, its memory address, current value, whether it should be "frozen" (fixed in memory), pointers, or offset adjustments. The user may share these table files with others; when reloaded, addresses sometimes require correction via the "Auto apply the offset" feature if the game version or system differs.

Files of this type start with a recognizable ASCII signature at the very beginning of the file. The first bytes are "ArtMoneyTable", followed by additional characters that identify the file format specifically for ArtMoney tables.
