What are AGTEMPLATE files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening an AGTEMPLATE file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your AGTEMPLATE files.

What is an AGTEMPLATE file?

An .AGTEMPLATE file is an Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Template file.

Files with the .AGTEMPLATE extension are plain-text preset or template files created by Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to store saved editing or layout settings. They are used to apply a consistent set of appearance- or layout-related adjustments (such as color, tone, effects, print layout, or watermarking) to photos or printed output. Only Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is known to both create and use files in this format.

These templates are produced inside Lightroom when a user saves certain edits, layouts, or overlay options for reuse. After creation, Lightroom can load them during editing or printing operations so the same editing or layout effects can be applied quickly to other images without recreating all settings manually.

Inside the file, the content is human-readable ASCII text. Files begin with the characters "s={" at offset zero, and contain strings such as WHITEBALANCE, SETTINGS, DEVELOP, TITLE, VALUE, AUTO, TYPE, and UUID identifying different editing parameters.
