What are ADO files and how to open them

What is an ADO file?
ADO files have multiple uses, and Adobe Duotone Options is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Adobe Duotone Options
These ADO files contain settings for color transfer curves that specify the properties of two colors to grayscale images in Adobe Photoshop. You can store or load these duotone ink settings and apply them to multiple images.
How to open ADO files
Important: Different programs may use files with the ADO file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your ADO file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested five different ADO openers which you will find listed below.

While Adobe Duotone Options is a popular type of ADO-file, we know of 2 different uses of the .ADO file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
Adorage Animation
We know that one ADO format is Adorage Animation. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
