The .aba file type is a format typically found affixed in files that serve as address book archive files created by Palm mobile devices. ABA means Address Book Archive. Files with .aba extension contains contact listings complete with name, organization, email address, phone number, title, and photos. This archive file is also used to secure the connectivity of computer and mobile devices with regards to the personal contact information and serve as a backup file in case of corruption of both mentioned gadgets.
The .aba files are specifically made to restore contact information on Palm mobile devices. The .aba files may be used by Palm Desktop on a Mac or PC computer in order to synchronize the contacts to a new Palm and/ or for safekeeping purposes.
Moreover, since .aba files are archived it may contain other files and information. When the user tried to delete a contact on palm device, the device will ask if the user wants to archive the file before deleting. When the contact is archived, most often than not, the .dat files and .bak files are made. To properly open and manage these files including the .aba file, the user should download and install the Palm Desktop Software.
