What is an A2I file?
An .A2I file is an Adlib Tracker II Instrument file.
A2I is a file extension unique to Adlib Tracker II. A2 was an innovative music-tracking program in the 90s, loved by demoscene and chiptune artists for its small size and low system requirements. By exploiting the creativity offered by such a program, musicians could make beautiful music.
A2I files are specially formatted files that Adlib Tracker II can use to generate music. The instrument data they contain includes pitch, volume, and effect properties as well as waveforms.
Adlib Tracker II uses instruments, patterns and sequences of notes to compose music. Using patterns and instruments together, you can make music in different styles.
.A2I files can store and share instrument data between different Adlib Tracker II users.
