What are FCD files and how to open them

What is a FCD file?

FCD files have multiple uses, and EasyCAD drawing is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

EasyCAD drawing

These FCD files contain the drawings created in AutoCAD, a design and drafting software. You can view and print your 2D and 3D images. You have access to line style editing, and scalable hatch fills.

How to open FCD files

Important: Different programs may use files with the FCD file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your FCD file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

All known file formats using extension .FCD

While EasyCAD drawing is a popular type of FCD-file, we know of 4 different uses of the .FCD file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.

FastCAD drawing

These FCD files contain drawings created in FastCAD, a software designed to create 2D and 3D drawings. You can create 2D or 3D building layouts, for example, your living room or bedroom. You get access to 24-bit color support throughout your FastCAD experience.

FidoCAD drawing

These FCD files contain the schematics created in FidoCAD, a portable standard for drawing any schematic type. You can store elaborate designs while only using a few Kilobytes of storage. The text format is used for saving documents that are ideal for integrating e-mail messages with drawings and diagrams.

Virtual CD-ROM File

We know that one FCD format is Virtual CD-ROM File. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.

FCD opener for Windows

We have identified one FCD opener that is compatible with this specific type of FCD file.
