What is an EVR file?

An .EVR file is an Enhanced Variable Rate audio file.

Files with file extension .evr are audio files in Enhanced Variable Rate Codec format.

This is an audio format developed by Qualcomm for speech transmission on early mobile CDMA networks.

EVRC is old technology invented in 1995, which has later been superseded by newer standards like SMV and CDMA2000 4GV, providing better voice quality and less bandwidth use.

How to open EVR files

Important: Different programs may use files with the EVR file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your EVR file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
