091 File

What are 091 files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a 091 file or just wondering what they contain? We explain what these files are used for and show you software that we know can open or otherwise handle your files.

What is a 091 file?

A .091 file is a Split 7-Zip Archive (part 91) file.

Files with the .091 file extension are split archive files created by archive and compression applications, in this case most likely 7-Zip.

Compression tools are used to take collections of files and compress them into a single archive file. It is usually done to save hard drive space and to make distributing the file collection easier.

Archive files can get very big, and sometimes it is necessary to split them into smaller parts to fit on CDs or USB drives. When an archive file is split, each part of the archive is assigned a numbered file suffix. Files with the 091 extension are #91 of the split archive.

To access the content of the .091 file, you will need to have all the archive part files in the same folder and open the first file with your compression tool.
