What are MPGA files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a MPGA file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your MPGA files.

What is a MPGA file?

A .MPGA file is a MPEG Audio file.

An MPGA file is usually an MP3 file saved with the MPGA file extension. This type of audio file is encoded using MPEG-1 Layer 3, which is an audio encoding (compression) standard invented by the Moving Picture Experts Group.

Encoding audio data is done to reduce the size of the input sound data, without reducing the sound quality too much, but saving a lot of space for the output file. This is beneficial both when storing the files on hard drives and servers, but also when streaming files online as it saves a lot of bandwidth.
