Having problems opening a file?

We can help you find products that can open, view or play your files.

Simply enter the name of your file or the type of file you are having problems opening in the search box at the top of the page, and we will show you which products can open it.

Not only will we show you products that can open your file, you will also get detailed information about the type of file you are trying to open.

What is a file extension?

A file extension is the numbers and letters in a filename between the end of the name and the last "." (dot) character. For example, in the filename "winmail.dat", the file extension is "dat".

The file extension is used by Windows to determine which programs on your PC can open a certain type of file. If you don't have a program that can open a file, you can search the web for a solution - which is likely why you ended up on this site.

We help you open your files

We have a huge database of file extensions, and we hand pick products that we test and make available for download on this web site. We link our file extensions with one or more products that can open such files, making it very easy for you to locate software that can help you open your files.

Simply enter the name of your file (or the file extension) above, and click search. This will show you a description of the file extension, what it is and what such files are used for, and a list of products that will open them.
