WinUAE

If you are looking for WinUAE, you have come to the right place. We explain what WinUAE is and point you to the official download.

What is WinUAE?

WinUAE is a type of computer emulator release under the GNU General Public License. It follows the Commodore Amiga computers’ hardware, and presents the user with many options to modify. This software is great for Commodore Amiga fans. For UAE to work, it needs several Amiga startup roms, as well as Workbench disk images if users want to have a desktop environment. After the startup, Workbench can be installed and users can start using their brand new Amiga.

Some of UAE’s new features include a complete A4000T and A4091 NCR53C710 SCSI emulation. It has an A590/A2091 and A4091 boot ROM GUI selection. Graphics can be filtered for both RTG and native modes. A 256K ROM image is included inside the floppy drive, which copies an A1000 KICK disk. UAE has a SLRIP network inbound port support, which can be added by editing its configuration file. It supports a Super Card Pro image file support. A joystick or joypad can be used to control the cursor of the light pen. Audio and video files can be added. UAE does not contain Amiga operating systems, which are needed in order to run an Amiga system.
