Tasker

If you are looking for Tasker, you have come to the right place. We explain what Tasker is and point you to the official download.

What is Tasker?

Tasker is an automation program for palmtop users. It works by recording cursor movements and clicks. Its design was inspired by classic VCRs: the user simply needs to press a button for recording and then go through the cursor motions and keystrokes that he wants the program to remember and be able to emulate later. Once done, he need only press the button for Stop and give the recording a name. The recorded processes can be scheduled to run at specific times or intervals, freeing users to perform other tasks or even step away from their computer systems. Even typing activities can be recorded and made to run on repetition if needed. There are many other tasks that can be recorded.

While the simple interface and process means that users absolutely devoid of scripting knowledge can use it in order to create their own custom macros, the program actually does provide a scripting environment for advanced users. Text-based file programming is supported, as is software quality evaluation and error recording. It is supported by just about every palmtop operating system and works exactly the same on all of them.
