If you are looking for Tableau Reader, you have come to the right place. We explain what Tableau Reader is and point you to the official download.
What is Tableau Reader?
The Tableau Reader is the software needed for one to be able to open and interact with a display created on Tableau Desktop. All the activities or interactions possible when using it to view a particular Tableau Desktop file are limited by the permissions set by the original author of the Tableau Desktop file, so it is better described as client-end software. As such, like most other programs in this category, it is available at no price to the user.
Just like the Tableau Desktop, the program has full Unicode support. This means that there is multilingual support for displaying actual content in the file, which can contain scripts such as Arabic or some other non-alphabetic writing system. However, the interface of the program itself has no localizations other than the English version.
Some of the interactions users can carry out with files opened with the Tableau Reader would be data filtering, data sorting, visualization exporting and printing, paging and, of course, simple read-only viewing. The program can only be installed on a Microsoft Windows operating system (Windows 8/7/Vista/XP, Server 2012/2003/2008) and has no difficulties with either 32-bit or 64-bit versions.
