The Steelray Project Viewer supports Microsoft Project MPP files, Microsoft Excel files and UN/CEFACT XML files. It also allows the access of Gantt charts, calendars and resource usage. Sharing of status updates through this software is also made easier by preparing project files and sending task updates. It supports various versions of the Microsoft Project which includes the Microsoft Project 98, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013 versions.

The Steelray Project Viewer runs well on Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Linux and Mac OS X. It also has been translated in a number of languages including English, German and French.
