Steam
If you are looking for Steam, you have come to the right place. We explain what Steam is and point you to the official download.
What is Steam?
Steam is a gaming platform developed by Valve Corporation. The platform serves as a distribution channel for online game developers. For the user/gamer, Steam provides them with a program for managing all of their downloaded games. The user is also provided with various applications that enhance their gaming experience.
Through the various applications, users are able to create groups and friends lists, and save games in the cloud service provided by the developer. Gamers are also able to voice chat and message chat with other gamers directly on their game interface.
In addition to enhancing the user’s gaming experience, the platform also functions as an auto updater for the user’s games. If there are current deals that are available for Steam users, the program alerts the user of such deals.
Furthermore, Steam enables the user to play their downloaded games across different OS platforms. This means that the user does not need to purchase or download separate game versions for each OS. One downloaded game can be played on Windows, Mac and Linux machines. There are also games supported by Steam that allow for cross-platform multi-user playing, enabling gamers to play multi-player games with other users at the same time, regardless of platform.
