What is Stanza?
Stanza refers to the Lexcycle application for viewing electronic publications, which is available for iPhones, Mac OS computers, and Windows OS computers. The program can be used to open files in the following formats: HTML, RTF, DOC/DOCX, PDF, EPUB, LIT, eReader, and Mobipocket. Support for Amazon Kindle formats is also included—as may be expected of an application from a company owned by Amazon.
The program supports user selection of the view mode for the text being read. A text can be displayed in normal paginated view, in columns, in a horizontal scroll mode, and so on. The Windows version is restricted to only the vertical text layout option, however. It has a feature that allows it to scroll the text automatically too, at a speed dictated by the user. It also has page and chapter navigation options.
Some export options are available too in the program, although it is not possible to use it to export to an audiobook. While users can add titles to their library themselves from various sources, the program also allows them access to an online database that contains several thousand classic titles that can be downloaded at no cost.
