What is SQL Developer?

SQL Developer is a database administration and query tool that provides a single consistent interface for various databases. With this program, users can visually navigate through their database structures, create and execute SQL queries and scripts the easy way. Or, reverse engineer complete data models with its integrated diagram editor. A cross database tool can be used on any platform running Java with one front-end. Long SQL scripts can be run on any database. Diagram Editor can also be used to visualize tables, views, and their relations with dependencies.

It has bookmarks that can manage the user’s frequently used statements with the integrated bookmark repository, and the statement history. With its cross database, users can connect to every other database that supports JDBC access. Additionally, ODBC support is provided by the JDBC-ODBC bridge. It has adaptive syntax highlighting for the different SQL dialects that support the user while coding. SQL Developer is completely written in Java. It can be run on any platform that supports Java 1.4 or higher. The SQL Developer also comes with English and German UI.
