What is Roxio DiscCopier?

Roxio Disc Copier is an application that allows the user to create a copy of their optical discs, whether these are CDs, DVDs or Blu-Ray discs. The program allows for copying non-copyrighted material only.

The Disc Copier application is a component of the Roxio Creator software suite. The application can be accessed from the main window of the Roxio Creator program, from the Data Copy tab or from the Applications Project Window, depending on your version of Roxio Creator. Apart from creating copies of optical discs, the application also allows the user to create a disc copy of their data files, as well as media files saved on the computer or saved in another storage device.

Disc copying may be done in separate CD/DVD drives, or on the same disc drive. When you insert the disc to be copied, a prompt will appear to alert the user that copying of copyrighted materials is against the law, and the user may be subject to fines or penalties. Clicking OK to acknowledge the warning will close the prompt window, and will open the Disc Copier window.

If the user has a single CD drive, the contents of the CD being copied will be stored in a temporary folder, which will then be transferred onto the blank disc when this is inserted into the same CD drive.
