What is Quartus II?
Quartus II, a software published by Altera, is platform that lets tou manage your resources as well as designs using its pre-integrated productivity tools. It is equipped with training suits that features resources to boost your productivity. These tools are also responsible for accelerating the development process through FPGA platform.
Quartus II also lets you work on your own logic design through programmable tools. The entire Quartus II package includes HardCopy® ASICs, SoCs, and CPLDs. You can use all these functionality with GUI that is easy to grasp and use.
The productivity tool embedded in this FPGA-supported program has a multi-processor functionality which means that this program enables you to activate your designs on any type of multi-processing computers. With this tool you can accelerate your compiling period by as much as 20 per cent as it enables parallel processing.
The publisher of this software launched another productivity tool called Open Computing Language (OpenCLTM) which is integrated in another version of Quartus called Altera DSK. The concept of combining the functionalities of FPGA and Open Computing Language (OpenCLTM) is aimed to provide increased system acceleration.
