PrimerSelect

If you are looking for PrimerSelect, you have come to the right place. We explain what PrimerSelect is and point you to the official download.

What is PrimerSelect?

PrimerSelect is a sequencing, PCR and hybridization probe and primer designer. Using the program, a user can better select the optimal primer or probe for his work. The program also has a catalog or bank that users can employ as storage for their primers—this makes primers easier to access or recall later on. As soon as a primer is generated, it can be moved into this bank. It also supports concurrent viewing of PCR product sites (the alternate as well as the major sites). This is useful when the user needs to compare data across the sites—for instance, the user can thus quickly compare the melting point of either primer through this feature.

Users can better fit sequences they are viewing on-screen by using the expansion and contraction options for manipulating sequence display (these are simply operated through click-and-drag). The program also supports editing of sequences. Multiple options for sequence and primer display facilitate presentation and analysis, with users also given an option for primer overview mode (the primers on the selected template will be the ones included in the overview when this is selected).
