What is Portrait Professional Studio?

Software company Anthropics presents users with a photo-enhancement program through Portrait Professional Studio. The program may be installed as a standalone photo touchup utility, or as a plug-in for other photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop.

With Portrait Professional Studio, users can work on raw files like .dng (Adobe), .crw and .cr2 (Canon), .raf (Fuji), .tic, .kdc and .dcr (Kodak), .mrw (Minolta), .nef (Nikon), .orf (Olympus), .ptx and .pef (Pentax), .arw, .srf and .sr2 (Sony), .x3f (Sigma), .erf (Epson), and .raw (Panasonic).

The program is specifically designed to enhance a person’s appearance on photos. It uses various technologies to touchup a person’s face; from forehead creases to wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, to the person’s skin tone, hair and teeth.

More specifically, users can remove shadow on a person’s face, erase wrinkles and spots, remove oil or shine from face, reshape face to make it appear thinner, whiten teeth and thicken hair. Hair color may likewise be changed, especially for removing white/gray hair.

Batch processing is allowed, enabling the user to apply the same enhancements on several photos at the same time.

There are currently two versions of the software: Portrait Professional Studio and Portrait Professional Studio 64. Both versions are provided as shareware, which means that the user has to purchase the software.
