If you are looking for MVSP, you have come to the right place. We explain what MVSP is and point you to the official download.

What is MVSP?

MVSP is a program which can perform some numerical analyses. These can be used in a lot of scientific fields. It can also calculate several kinds of eigenalnalysis ordinations, including principal coordinates, correspondence/detrended correspondence analyses, and principal coordinates. The newest version also adds some canonical correspondence analyses, which can be used in ecological studies. This program can perform cluster analysis, with different distance and similarity measures, and clustering strategies. Users can produce some dendrograms of both cases and variables in a single step, thanks to its dual clustering option. The original data matrix can be arranged in a similar order as their dendrograms. Constrained clustering can be performed, so the order of the original input data is maintained. Diversity indices can also be calculated on ecological data, including Brillouin’s, Simpson’s, and Shannon’s indices.

However, the amount of cases and variables which can be analyzed are restricted to the amount of memory on Windows computers (Hard disk and RAM swap files). MVSP gives out several data manipulation features. These features include transformation, combining data files, and converting to different types of formats. Data can also be exported to a variety of formats.
