If you are looking for Micro Vault Virtual Expander, you have come to the right place. We explain what Micro Vault Virtual Expander is and point you to the official download.
What is Micro Vault Virtual Expander?
The Micro Vault Virtual Expander software is firmware from Sony that it preinstalls into its USM-H series of Microvault Tiny products. Currently available in 1GB to 8GB options, the Microvault products are miniature storage disks capable of connecting to USB ports. Unlike the regular USB, though, they are only about three times the thickness of a fingernail and just slightly larger than one, width- and length-wise.
The Micro Vault Virtual Expander software comes with every Sony Microvault Tiny storage device and is used to optimize space consumption on the devices. The name “Vault Virtual Expander” comes from its function, as it essentially serves as a solution for “expanding” the storage capacities of the device on which it has been installed. The program does this by compressing data that a user transfers or stores onto a Microvault storage device. Using a compression method that retains data quality while scaling down data space consumption, the Micro Vault Virtual Expander software can actually optimize storage device efficiency to the point that users can store thrice as much data on their Microvaults as they normally would without the application.
