If you are looking for MAGIQLIP2, you have come to the right place. We explain what MAGIQLIP2 is and point you to the official download.
What is MAGIQLIP2?
Magiqlip 2 is the second iteration of Sony’s Magiqlip music player software, which was released in 2003 (a year after the original Magiqlip). Magiqlip and Magiqlip 2 support the MQ format digital rights management similar to Label Gate, which allows playback of DRM-protected music content to be played in devices with Magiqlip and later OpenMG Jukebox. Both were superseded by SonicStage. Magiqlip is backwards compatible, meaning that content from Magiqlip can be accessed in Magiqlip 2; it plays ATRAC3 audio and later.
SonicStage, its successor, is a proprietary software platform from Sony whose capabilities and roles are similar to Apple’s iTunes and Microsoft’s Windows Media Player Library in that it is used to manage portable audio (or audio-capable devices) when they are plugged into a Windows computer. Like these two, SonicStage uses a two-part approach, a music player and a library, and recognizes MP3 and ATRAC files. SonicStage was first used for VAIO notebooks and PCs, superseding the now-defunct OpenMG Jukebox; SonicStage is in itself rendered into obsolescence by the newer and more popular Bandit.fm service which was field-tested in Australia and New Zealand.
