What is LISCAD?
LISCAD is a modular program used for civil engineering and land surveying, and it can carry out myriad surveyors’ tasks, including data compilation and map creation. The central module is the Utilities module, which allows users to organize and manage their projects on the software. The application can import data from various surveying devices—whether they are GPS, total stations, data loggers, or some other type of digital field level surveying gadget—via the Input and Output module, which also enables import from other CAD and surveying software.
LISCAD offers a multitude of tools depending on the user’s needs. There is a live surveying module for real-time stakeout and surveying, one for working with point cloud data, one for carrying out computations in geodetic coordinate geometry, and one for users who want to use least squares solutions in their calculations. There is a coordinate transformations module, a digital terrain model utility, an earthworks module, a CAD profiles and design module, and a background image importing function for orthophoto and satellite map and image import. It can also provide 3D visualizations of data, a CAD tool, and a resource editor and manager.
