What is Foxmail?

Foxmail is Tencent’s email client. Available for free, it is one of the most popular products of its type in China, having millions of users in the country. It supports IMAP4, POP3, MAPI, and the standards RFC 3454, RFC 3492, RFC 3491, and RFC 3490.

The latest version of the program has actually been redesigned, with a window design that has been split into 3 sections. The largest and rightmost section shows message content and the two thinner columns at the center and the left show the user’s email folders as well as the contents of each selected folder in a list. The latest version of the software also has an integrated plugin for a notepad utility that allows users to make annotations as they work and synchronize that note data on both their desktops and their smartphones. It also has a new kernel and has an option for merging the contact details of duplicate entries on address books. Furthermore, the software supports user calendar printing and holiday display. The Foxmail software is actually available for both Windows and Mac users, and is downloadable for free in either case.
