What is FontForge?
FontForge creates and corrects fonts in various formats such as the AAT, PostScript, Open Type, TrueType, CID-Keyed, Multiple Master, SVG and different bitmap formats. Its native Spline Font Database format is text-based. It assists partnerships between designers, as difference files are simple to create.
Based on XML, FontForge also supports the interoperable UFO source format. FontForge provides tutorials to help users design their fonts from hotkeys to visual themes and a translatable interface. The complete interface is also fully documented. FontForge contains scripting support with both its own scripting language and Python. Scripting allows users to get tedious tasks done at a faster pace.
