Fiddler
If you are looking for Fiddler, you have come to the right place. We explain what Fiddler is and point you to the official download.
What is Fiddler?
Fiddler is a program that allows developers and programmers to debug Web traffic, test application performance, check network connection security, and record HTTP/HTTPS traffic. This is a free computer program developed by Eric Lawrence, first launched in 2003.
Categorized as a packet analyzing program, Fiddler captures HTTP and HTTPS traffic between the computer and the Internet, displaying all relevant information on the captured session, including cookies, statuses, compression and protocols. This allows the developer to determine how a specific Web application that they are developing interacts with the Internet, or behaves online. The user can search for specific information from the recorded session, i.e. requests and responses, binaries, match case and regular expression; and then display the results in highlights, colored according to the shade selected by the user.
As a Web debugging tool, the program allows for debugging of traffic from popular Web browsers like Opera, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. From the captured data, the user can analyze Web sessions, allowing for identification of missing page elements. The application also allows for HTTP compression, which aims to lower down the bytes exchanged between the Web server and end-user.
Fiddler is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.
