What is DigitalSign Reader?
DigitalSign Reader is an application which can be used and downloaded by citizens who don’t use it for professional purposes. It can also be used by those who want to open, show, or verify documents signed by means of CompEd software. By using the DigitalSign Reader, users will be able to access any type of digitally signed document in PKCS#7 (.p7m) format, according to the DPCM and the Delib. CNIPA. Document content can be shown, printed, or exported. Accurate verifications include signature(s), which can also verify that the certificate of the signer was issued through a reliable provider, or has not been revoked or suspended.
DigitalSign Reader does not need any smartcard or a card reader. This program can be used right away, even to become familiar with digital signature technology before the start of DigitalSign. DigitalSign Reader is specifically made to deal with documents, and to connect to certification infrastructures. This is to obey Italian laws and regulations. The English version of the program is only made to make its usage easy for foreigners who are operating the software in the Italian context.
