The Arcsoft PhotoImpression is an intermediate-level photo-editing software that is not as fully featured and as powerful as either the Adobe Photoshop or the open-source GIMP, but is more than enough for usual home consumer purposes such as photo retouching or red-eye removal. However, the Arcsoft PhotoImpression is by no means basic nor for beginners, as it has a variety of tools approaching near-professional level, but all packaged in a neat and simple interface like IrfanView. This goes away with the need for “overkill” capabilities like those in Photoshop, and presents users (who are not graphic designers) with the most common utilities they will ever need in their photo library management.
Core to the concept of the PhotoImpression’s capabilities are the project wizards, which are helpful, step-by-step procedures on how to edit your photos. Not only this, but the GUI itself of the application will guide you on the process of editing from start to finish, with big button controls and auto-enhancement procedures; each step in the editing process is represented by a tab that allows you to perform specific tasks for that step. Other features of the PhotoImpression include online sharing, burning, music and audio playback, and also as a stand-alone image-viewer.
