Amiga Forever

If you are looking for Amiga Forever, you have come to the right place. We explain what Amiga Forever is and point you to the official download.

What is Amiga Forever?

Cloanto’s Amiga Forever is a program designed to preserve the digital culture and programs surrounding the Amiga family computers in the 80s and 90s. Since those were designed for both an Amiga software environment as well as an Amiga hardware base, the Amiga Forever software emulates both the software and hardware components of the original system. Thus, the software is able to run the Amiga operating system on top of the host computer’s operating system (which could be anything from Windows to Linux) without actually replacing any components of the host system.

The ultimate result of this emulation is that users can run any application designed for the old Amiga systems on a modern computer. Thus, old Amiga games like Quake and Dungeon Master can be run on the host computer as though it were a true Amiga computer. The same is true of demoscenes and other Amiga-specific programs.

The Amiga Forever software comes in a number of editions, and depending on the edition the user purchases, there can be any number of preselected Amiga games and demoscene programs already installed in it and ready to use.
