3DMark

If you are looking for 3DMark, you have come to the right place. We explain what 3DMark is and point you to the official download.

What is 3DMark?

3DMark is a benchmarking software program provided by Futuremark Corporation. The software is particularly utilized for testing 3D graphics output quality for gaming hardware. Users are provided with performance values of the machines’ GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) and CPU (Central Processing Unit).

Three types of tests are included in the software: Fire Strike, for Windows PCs designed specifically for gaming; Cloud Gate, for Windows home computers and notebooks; and Ice Storm, for Windows mobile, Android and iOS devices. Tests are marked by scores, where the higher the score, the better the performance capabilities.

Also, Fire Strike is capable of testing multiple GPU systems; while Cloud Gate and Ice Storm include 2 graphics performance tests and one physics test.

There are also three types of 3DMark available: 3DMark Basic Edition, 3DMark Advanced Edition and 3DMark Professional Edition. The Basic Edition includes all three types of tests and can be downloaded for free. The Advanced Edition includes testing for multiple GPU systems, and each test can be run separate from one another; while the Professional Edition is for commercial use, and provides command line options. Both the Advanced Edition and Professional Edition are distributed as shareware.
