YTT File
What are YTT files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a YTT file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your YTT files.
What is a YTT file?
A .YTT file is a YouTube Timed Text Subtitles file.
Making a YouTube video accessible requires precision. You'll need the right file type to ensure subtitles and captions are included and that viewers can understand the audio. A YTT file provides this - it stores timed text data for a video.
The .ytt file is composed of entries corresponding to sections of video, each featuring text displayed at set start and end times, plus format information such as font size, color and position on screen. To use it, simply upload the file to YouTube's video manager, and the captions will play automatically when it's played.
This offers great benefit - allowing people with hearing impairments or those speaking different languages access to your content.
How to open YTT files
Important: Different programs may use files with the YTT file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your YTT file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
