What is a VCS file?
Files that contain the .vcs file extension are usually associated with the vCalendar e-calendar and scheduling software application.
This VCS file format is primarily used by the Microsoft Outlook email and scheduling application, but other scheduling software applications can use the VCS file format as well.
A VCS file contains information about events and appointments that a user schedule's in the software's associated calendar. This information can then be imported into other calendar and scheduling software application, such as Microsoft Outlook, Apple iCal and a variety of Palm PDA applications.
The Valve Left 4 Dead computer gaming software has also been known to use the .vcs file suffix. This application uses the .vcs file extension for the shader files that are used by the computer game.
