UE2 File
What are UE2 files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening an UE2 file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your UE2 files.
What is an UE2 file?
An .UE2 file is an UltraCompressor 2 Encrypted Archive file.
These files are used to compress and encrypt multiple files and folders into a single file. This is especially useful for shielding confidential information or shrinking a sizable group of files for easier access or transportation.
The key distinction between .ue2 files and zip files lies in the methods used for their compression and encryption: .ue2 files make use of a proprietary algorithm, while zip files employ a widely accepted and standard algorithm. The encrypted contents of .ue2 files are secure and private, as they can only be accessed with the correct password or decryption key.
How to open UE2 files
Important: Different programs may use files with the UE2 file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your UE2 file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
We have not yet verified any programs for Windows that work with this specific file format. If you know one, please use the 'Suggest a program' link below. Thanks!
