Are you having problems opening a TAG file or just wondering what they contain? We explain what these files are used for and show you software that we know can open or otherwise handle your files.

What is a TAG file?

TAG files have multiple uses, and DataFlex Tag is one of them.

DataFlex Tag File

A TAG file is part of a DataFlex database. DataFlex is a database that can be embedded into other applications, so it is used in a wide range of software. Each database table has an associated DAT file that holds the actual date, and an ASCII TAG file that contains a line delimited list of the fields defined in the table. It is used by DFQuery to let the user choose the fields from a datafile when querying the data.
