Opening SSF files

Did your computer fail to open a SSF file? We explain what SSF files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your SSF files.

What is a SSF file?

The SSF file format is used for internal application data files that were developed by TechSmith Corporation for one of their software products. These proprietary application data files use the .ssf file extension. These SSF files are installed along with the other internal program files of the SnagIt software.

The SnagIt software is a Windows program that was created by TechSmith Corporation. This is a tool that was designed with screen and desktop capture functions that can save captured screens, desktop areas and application windows as image files. The SnagIt software uses the code that is stored in these .ssf files upon the activation of its associated functions.

There are no other known third party applications that can be used to open and edit these SSF files. It's recommended to leave these .ssf files alone, in order for the SnagIt software to continue working properly.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
