What are SKIN files and how to open them

What is a SKIN file?
SKIN files have multiple uses, and ASP.Net Skin is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
ASP.Net Skin File
The .skin file extension is most commonly associated with skin files that are used by a variety of ASP.NET software applications. The SKIN files control the look and feel of the application interface, modifying the look and feel of the text boxes, labels and buttons.
The SKIN files store information about the colors, layout, fonts and other styles for the interface.
How to open SKIN files
Important: Different programs may use files with the SKIN file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your SKIN file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

World of Warcraft Model Skin
Another type of SKIN file is used by the World of Warcraft games.
Classic/Open-Shell Windows Style Skin
We know that one SKIN format is Classic/Open-Shell Windows Style Skin. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
