RTA File
What are RTA files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a RTA file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your RTA files.
What is a RTA file?
A .RTA file is a RoboHelp Data file.
RoboHelp Data File (.RTA) is a proprietary data file used by Adobe RoboHelp as part of its internal project structure. It holds project metadata and internal state information that RoboHelp reads and updates when a project is opened or modified. These files are not intended to be viewed or edited by users directly.
Adobe RoboHelp writes .RTA files automatically as one component of a RoboHelp project folder. When you create, save, or modify topics, layouts, navigation, or other project settings, RoboHelp updates the corresponding .RTA file. During standard workflow you do not need to interact with these files, and they do not affect final help, document, or web output directly.
In project file listings published by Adobe, the .RTA file type is labelled "RoboHelp RTA Data File" among the formats RoboHelp can open or use. It is categorized under data/project internal use rather than externally published content like HTML, XML, or output formats.
