Opening RAF files

Did your computer fail to open a RAF file? We explain what RAF files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your RAF files.

What is a RAF file?

Files affixed with .raf file extension are frequently linked with MyFinePix Studio. Developed by Fujifilm, myFInePix is a licensed freeware for Windows (32-bit and 64-bit), used for managing, viewing and printing images. The program can also be used in uploading images and movies to social networking services and also, users can edit 3D still images and movies taken by Fujifilm 3D digital cameras.

Every .raf file contains the Exchangeable Image File information or EXIF. This EXIF is tagged with the image so that the image can be open and edited using other third- party graphics applications. Some graphics programs recognize the format are Qimage and Thumbnails for Fuji.

Fujifilm .raf (raw file) images contain clean, unprocessed data from the Fuji cameras CCD or CMOS sensor. It is called raw because it is a digital negative without any other in-camera effects and compression. A .raf file means literally as a raw image- nothing has been done on the file and it is what it is.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
