What are POM files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a POM file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your POM files.
What is a POM file?
A .POM file is a Maven Project Object Model file.
Maven is a build tool, used in Java development. It generates Project Object Model files, commonly called ".pom" files. They store critical configuration, like project packaging, and dependencies.
Using .pom files simplifies managing complex projects. To use them you'll need Maven installed, which can be downloaded from the Apache Maven website. Once installed you configure the project with a .pom file.
Maven uses this information to manage build process and resolve dependencies. Ultimately it makes working with complicated projects easier and more efficient.
