What are PK files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a PK file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your PK files.
What is a PK file?
PK files have multiple uses, and Audition Peak Waveform is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Audition Peak Waveform File
Files that contain the .pk file extension are normally associated with the Audition (previously known as Cool Edit Pro) waveform applications. The PK files that are used by these programs contain visual representations of a corresponding audio file.
When the audio file is played, the PK file displays a visual waveform representation of the audio file on the screen. The program generates the waveform on the first run and saves it in a PK file, to save computer resources on later replays of the same audio file.
