Opening PK files

Did your computer fail to open a PK file? We explain what PK files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your PK files.

What is a PK file?

Files that contain the .pk file extension are normally associated with the Audition and Cool Edit Pro waveform applications. The PK files that are used by these programs contain visual representations of a corresponding audio file. When the audio file is played, the PK file displays a visual waveform representation of the audio file on the screen.

The .pk file extension is also used by the LaTex software program. This application uses the .pk file suffix for the compressed font files that are saved by the program.

Packed bitmap font files can also be saved with the .pk file suffix.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
