PETSCII Editor Screen files with the.pe extension are used to store PETSCII character set screen images. Most of the time, these files are used to make designs for the Commodore 64 and other retro computers.
The .pe file format is a binary file that contains the pixel data for the screen image, along with metadata such as the screen size and color information. The PETSCII character set is a set of 256 characters that can be used to create images and text on a screen
